This Privacy Policy describes how Moatrics ("we", "us") collects, uses, and protects your information when you use the Service. We collect only what we need to operate the platform and never sell your data.
1. Information We Collect
We collect the email address you provide at signup and the password you set, stored only as a bcrypt hash — the password itself is never retained. We also collect the watchlist, investment notes, and settings you create inside the Service, along with minimal access logs (timestamp, IP address) for security and abuse prevention.
2. How We Use Your Information
We use your information to (a) provide and maintain the Service, (b) authenticate you and protect your account, (c) respond to support requests, (d) communicate important changes such as new features, billing, or policy updates, and (e) send you how-to emails about the Service and our research newsletter. These start only after you click the link in a confirmation email we send you; every one carries an unsubscribe link, and unsubscribing does not affect your account.
3. Data Sharing
We do not sell your personal information. We share data only with infrastructure providers (cloud hosting, email delivery) strictly to operate the Service, and only when legally required to do so. Our how-to emails and newsletter are sent through MailerLite, which receives only your email address, the name you set (if any), and your preferred language. Payments are processed by Stripe: you enter your card details on Stripe's own checkout page, so they never reach our servers. We give Stripe your email address and username, and keep only your plan, its status and dates, and Stripe's reference IDs for your subscription. Aggregated, non-identifying analytics may be shared publicly.
4. Data Security
Passwords are stored using industry-standard hashing. Per-user research data is isolated on our servers. No security measure is perfect — please use a strong, unique password and notify us immediately of any suspicious activity.
5. Your Rights
You may request access to, correction of, or deletion of your personal data at any time by emailing us. We will respond within 30 days. Deleting your account permanently removes your watchlist, investment notes, and account record, and erases your email address from MailerLite (their erasure completes within 30 days). A newsletter subscription you made separately on our website is kept until you unsubscribe.
6. Cookies
We use first-party cookies strictly to keep you signed in. We do not use third-party advertising cookies or cross-site tracking on the Service.
7. Changes to This Policy
We may update this Privacy Policy as the Service evolves. Material changes will be communicated by email or in-app notice. The "Last updated" date at the top reflects the most recent revision.
